Freak Intensity Interval Training – Get FIIT with High Intensity Interval Training!
If you’re looking for serious, freaky fevered fat-melting, calorie crushing, weight-wasting results from your workout, high intensity interval training is for you!
Most of us are super busy. Busy with raising our kids, chauffeuring them around to soccer practice or violin lessons; busy trying to get ahead at work, trying to build our dream career; busy trying to meet obligations to friends and family, trying to build our dream family life. Most of us are just plain busy. Often too busy to make it to the gym. Or hey, maybe you’re just plain tired of paying that gym membership!
And yet, in addition to all of those other aspirations, you also aspire to be fit and healthy. You want to be in great condition, great shape. You want to have a physique that continues to attract your soul mate. You want to be in such condition that you minimize your risk of chronic disease … the diseases of aging. I want all of those things. But life gets in the way.
Your own health and fitness usually comes last, after all the other obligations and wishes.
High Intensity Interval Training
That’s where Freak-Intensity Interval Training comes in, popularly called High Intensity Interval Training (HIIT). HIIT is a great way to get big results in a small amount of time. There are many variations of HIIT, but all of them cycle between short periods of high-intensity exercise followed by either shorter periods of low-intensity exercise or a short period of rest.
My favorite HIIT Program uses this cycle:
- 20 seconds of high-intensity exercise
- 10 seconds of rest
- 20 seconds of same high-intensity exercise
- Repeat cycle until unable – usually 3-6 cycles
- Move onto the next high-intensity exercise, etc.
How to Start High-Intensity Interval Training
When starting out, keep the entire session short (I learned the hard way), say, five to ten minutes total. Now that may not sound like much of a workout, but with thirty seconds per cycle (20 sec high-intensity / 10 sec rest; repeat), you can pack 4 cycles each of three different exercises into about 6 minutes! THAT is an intense workout, make no mistake. And as you progress, you will be increasing the number of cycles and number of exercises per exercise session.
Even before you eventually increase your HIIT session to twenty or thirty minutes total, you will chisel a lean, strong machine of a physique!
It’s About Time
Compare that investment of 20-30 minutes with the amount of time it will cost you to go to the gym.
I don’t know about you, but I lose hours every time I go to the gym. Sometimes it’s a great workout, but often it’s not: too many distractions; can’t get on the machine I need to complete my sets; caught-up socializing; too self-conscious to “get in the zone”; etc.
Benefits of Body-Weight Exercises and High-Intensity Interval Training
Over the past couple years, I’ve become a huge fan of Body-Weight Exercises (BWE). High-Intensity Interval Training is a great technique to combine with BWE. I do include dumbbells with my HIIT program at home, but even when I don’t have access to weights, it’s so great that I can combine BWE and HIIT when I’m on the road giving lectures and teaching workshops. The facilities in so many hotels are … well, let’s just say they’re sub-optimal.
You can do BWE and HIIT ANYWHERE! If possible, take it outside.
Because these methods – both body-weight exercises and high-intensity interval training – have made such a huge contribution to my own optimal fitness, we include Streaming Videos for both methods in our Sacred Herbals FitnessHAX™ ULTIMATE Membership.
If you’re serious about maintaining (or regaining) your ultimate fitness, these methods are brutal, quick, but effective!
